Indian Muslim Cricket Players.

It is said that there were many Muslim Cricketers before the partition. In the test Match held in India for the first time, there were Four Muslim cricketers named Jahangir Khan, Mohammad Nissar, Brothers Wazir, and Nazir Ali. In the next test match held in the year 1936, there were six Muslim cricketers which included Dilawar Hussain and Baqa Jilani.

Soon after the partition of India, three of the Indian players named Hafeez Kardar, Gul Mohammad, And Amir Elahi have played for Pakistan.

The list of Muslim cricketers in the Indian cricket team is given below.

1. SYED MUSHTAQ ALI.

He was born in Hyderabad. He scored 612 runs. He was regarded as the best fielder of his time. Syed Mushtaq Ali who was from Indore played 11 test matches and 226 fast class matches. He scored 13213 runs in first class. He died in the year 2005.

3. MANSOOR ALI KHAN PATAUDI

Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was the captain of the Indian cricket team. He was known by the name tiger. He played 46 test matches and scored 2793 runs. He died In the year 2011. He was one of the former Indian Muslim cricket players.

4. ZAHEER KHAN

Zaheer khan is a fast bowler. He played a total of 92 test matches and he took 311 wickets. He took 7 wickets for 87 runs.  He played a total of 200 One-day matches and took 282 wickets.

5. MOHAMMED KAIF

Mohammed Kaif was the captain of the U-19 cricket team and won the U-19 world cup in the year 2000. He played 13 test matches and was able to score 624 runs. He played 125 ODI’s and was able to score 2753 runs.

6. IRFAN PATHAN

Irfan Pathan bowled very well and played 29 tests and scored 1105 runs. He played 120 ODI’s and scored 1544 runs. He took 100 wickets in 29 matches.

7. MOHAMMED SHAMI

Mohammad Shami is a cricketer who is currently playing for the Indian cricket team. So far he has taken 144 wickets in 40 test matches against Pakistan.

8. WASIM JAFFER

Wasim Jaffer is a Former Indian Cricketer. He was an opening batsman. He played 31 test matches, 2 ODI’s, 260 First-class matches, and 118 List A matches. He scored 26213 runs overall.

9. SYED KIRMANI

Syed Kirmani is a Former Indian cricket player. He was a wicket-keeper. The total runs he scored was 13,633. He also played for Karnataka in India. Kirmani won the award for the best wicket-keeper in the 1983-Cricket world cup.

10. GHULAM AHMED

Ghulam Ahmed was an off-spin bowler in Indian Cricket. He captained the Indian team in test cricket. He scored 1471 runs in his career. He played 98 first-class and 22 test matches. He was the leading bowler on the 1952 tour.

11. YUSUF PATHAN

Yusuf Pathan is an Indian cricketer who has represented the country in both Test and One Day International cricket. He is a powerful middle-order batsman and a useful right-arm off-spin bowler.

Pathan made his international debut for India in an ODI against Pakistan in April 2005. He was a member of the Indian team that won the 2007 ICC World Twenty20. He played an important role in India’s victory, scoring crucial runs and taking key wickets.

Pathan was also a member of the Indian team that won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. He scored two half centuries during the tournament, including a match-winning innings of 50 against Bangladesh in the quarter-final.

12. MOHAMMED SIRAJ

Mohammed Siraj is an Indian cricketer who plays for the Indian national cricket team and the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. He is a right-arm fast bowler.

Siraj made his first-class debut for Hyderabad in November 2015, against Kerala. In January 2017, he was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2017 season of the IPL. He made his international debut for India in November 2017, against New Zealand.

In December 2019, during the third Test match against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Siraj accused Australian players of racially abusing him. The match referee cleared the Australians of any wrongdoing.
