Wayne Parnell who is the fast bowler of South Africa converted to Islam. He decided to convert to Islam after carefully studying the religion.
He wanted to become a Muslim in January. He even selected to change his name to Waleed which means “Newborn son”.
Wayne Parnell said that he still has not changed his name as Waleed and by the time he will change his name will be Wayne Dillon Parnell.
He further said that he will respect the alcoholic beverages which the team endorses and wants to focus on playing cricket.
Wayne said that he wants to keep the matter related to his faith as private. The South African team manager named Mohammad Moosajee said that the team members who are Muslim are Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir but they have not influenced Wayne to convert to Islam.
The team manager even said that he does not know about the change in name but the decision to convert to Islam is taken by Wayne only.
The teammates said that Wayne after deciding to convert to Islam has not touched Alcohol which is Haram in Islam.
The teammates also said that Hashim Amla has not Influenced Wayne or her never urged other teammates to convert to Islam.
The teammates said that they are highly impressed by the way of Life lead by Hashim Amla. The way Amla shows respect towards his religion is appreciable.
Amla doesn’t attend the celebrations where liquor is used. While he is on tour he takes out time to offer his prayers. The didn’t even wear the kit which was sponsored by A beer brand.
Wayne’s talent was recognized when he became captain of South African under 19 teams. He is the youngest player at the age of 20 years who got a central contract. He is serious about his religion and is trying to follow Islamic principles. He wants to keep his faith private.
