The Mughal Museum which is located in Agra will now be named as Shivaji Maharaj Museum. This decision was taken by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Ajay Mohan Bisht.

Mughal Museum is now named as Shivaji Museum

The Mughal Museum in Agra, Delhi will now be renamed as Shivaji Maharaj Museum. This decision was taken by Yogi Adityanath who is the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.  This was announced on Monday that the Mughal Museum will be renamed.

Yogi Adityanath gave a statement and asked, “how can Mughal be our Heroes?”. He even renamed the state capital as Prayagraj which was earlier called Allahabad. He tweeted that there is no place for the mentality of slavery in Uttar Pradesh.

In India, the Mughal rule was from 1526 to 1540, and from 1555 to 1857. The Mughals built many Monuments and even built the Taj Mahal and Red Fort.

The rule of Mughals was more centralized and Standardised and did not suppress other cultures but equalized them. The last Mughal ruler was Bahadur Shah Zafar.

He was considered as the Emperor of Hindustan and was accepted by the Indian kings,  including Rani Laxmibai and Nana Saheb. The Hindu kings nominated the Mughal Emperor to take the lead and fight against the British. 

The Mughal Museum is set up near the Taj Mahal which is considered as the wonder of the world And is built by Shahjahan who is also the Mughal emperor.

The Mughal Museum will include all the objects and artifacts related to the Mughal Culture, along with these Paintings, cuisine, costumes, and performing arts will also be part of the Mughal Museum.

In a tweet shared by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, he stated that The museum in Agra will be named Shivaji Museum. He even said that the name Shivaji will develop the feeling of Nationalism among people. The nature of the Museum Project is still not known.

The Samajwadi Party’s Agra City President named Wazid Nisar said that instead of Developmental works the focus is only on changing Names.

There is no official confirmation about what changes would be made further regarding the nature of the project. The Chief Minister stated that Mughals cannot be heroes and said that Shivaji Maharaj is our Hero.
